Rex, I think you're right. I'm not, by the way, anti-social. And I do agree the cameraderie is fun. Where do we go from here, to begin a dialogue on possibly planning?

E-mail me. I'm not around for much of this weekend - - going to Columbus (and maybe Bloomington), for what it's worth - - where are you?

And I think there is merit in topping this thread. On the one hand, I think that I can interest 1, 2 or 3 additional people from "offline world" - - LOL! (unless you prefer not). But I really like the idea of seeking out other Fodorites who find it appealing - - the idea of making an adventure together.

I have been here over six years and answered over 11000 questions and I have proposed a number of small group trips here - - and the one thing I know... that I have come to accept... is that 99+ % of prospective travelers who come to this forum... have NO interest in something like this. Still, even a fraction of one percent of the number of visitors is still a lot of people.

Of course, this public dialogue with me is certainly not a guarantee nor promise that this particular trip will work out for me/us. Questions of specific dates, itinerary, budget and etc.

Curiously, I might have scarcely imagined a Fodorites trip to the British Isles. I'm pretty good at languages, so I always imagineed that I had more "expertise" to offer on "the continent". Still, I have been to just enough of England, Scotland and Ireland (never been to Wales) to want to see more. And I have felt comfortable driving there (and in Australia) - - including van driving. Not in London, naturally... but then, there must be little or no reason to ever have a car IN London. (As an aside, I am kinda hoping that you might be agreeable to putting most, or all of the London days at the end of the trip; I might not choose to commit a full 14 days, and you three - - or others - - oould manage fine on your own).

Anyhow... so many elements to consider... I look forward to talking further with you...

Rex,
I'll keep you in mind. My fellow travelers have a few other options they'd like for me to check out, back to the tour thing. I'll let you know if they decide to pursue a group Fodorite thing. Thanks for your interest and encouragement, you certainly have me thinking out of the box.

Alas... another Fodorites' trip idea withering on the vine, it seems.

C'est la vie...
