Small hotel in southern Umbria

Does anyone have any recommendation on a small rural hotel in Southern Umbria. We are trying to find somewhere near Spoleto. Price isn't overly important but somewhere quiet and within reach of restaurants is. Any thoughts?

We stayed at Locanda Rosati, right outside of Orvieto. Nice & quiet, and in the countryside. They serve dinner there, and there are a couple of restaurants within walking distance.

We stayed at Villa Milani just outside Spoleto and it was beautiful. They are members of an association called Abitare La Storia, Hospitality in Historical Houses. Lovely room and the public rooms are fantastic. It really is like staying in an elegant old Italian villa--which actually it is. Website www.villamilani.com
e-mail at [email protected]. I'd stay again in a heartbeat. Wonderful views over the Umbrian countryside. You can have your breakfast outside viewing it all.

Hi,

There are 2 hotels that I can recommend, both in Todi. The first is the Hotel Fonte Cesia in the historic center and a former 17th century palace with. Also, the Hotel Bramante is on the outskirts of town with a beautiful view - it is a former convent.

Best Regards,
Julia

Another vote for Locanda Rosati. Memorable.

We stayed at Hotel San Luca in Spoleto. We like to walk - it was about a 20 minute walk to some of the restaurants we ate at in town. It was a nice walk through the old streets. The hotel was quaint and had a very nice courtyard loaded with flowers. The staff, especially Barbara were so kind and helpful with anything we needed. We highly recommend a restaurant in town called Il Tempo del Gusto.....very charming, romantic and excellent service. It is a small little cozy place and had great food. Check it out!

We stayed at the Hotel Charleston in Spoleto and loved it. It's in the middle of town, had parking and was a couple of blocks from great restaurants. Walking back at night from an incredible meal, we stumbled upon a wonderful piano concert in a 15thc chapel.
