I have reservations for a 4-person sleeper car from Paris to Florence. When the tickets came we were assigned upper bunks. Will these upper bunks be hard to get into? Is it better to be on the lower bunk? And also, is it worth it making a change in the reservation to get a two person room? Cost is a concern, but so is comfort. Anyone with experience of a 4 person sleeper on this route?

Personally, if it were me, I would do a 2 person sleeper--- I hate sleeping with strangers....<BR><BR>I did on overnite from Rome to Heidelburg with my spouse and made him take the top bunk-there was a ladder...<BR><BR>Unless you are a senior citizen with balance problems, I don't think top bunks will be difficult to deal with.<BR><BR>I just prefer a 2 person couchette rather than strangers with me....

I agree, it would be better to be in a 2 person sleeper.<BR><BR>I was in a 4 person sleeper between Amsterdam and Rome in 1987 when in the middle of the trip a husband and wife came in to the compartment, stripped down naked and climbed into bed. Never spoke with them, but to this day, I still use that story from time to time. Culture shock to say the least. Didn't bother me, but it may bother you.

DEFINITELY get a sleeper bunk. I was traveling with three people from Paris-Milan, and we were in a four person bunk. We sat there and prayed that noone would come in...and luckily they didn't.<BR><BR>You don't want to have to worry about your stuff being stolen.

Jordan,<BR><BR>Mark, that was a great story and very real for NT travel. You tend to "see it all" on these journeys. An upper berth is somewhat difficult to get into, but the bigger issue is space. Usually there is 24" at the most for you and your stuff. Try this one at home and then try to get a T2 compartment. It is well worth the extra cost. Happy travels.<BR><BR>Greg<BR>
