Skye sightseeing question: Dunvegan or Armadale

On my upcoming visit to Skye, I would ideally like to fit in visits to both Dunvegan castle and Armadale, but I suspect I will only be able to do one due to conflicting priorites in the travelling party. Has anyone visited both, and which was more interesting?

Dunvegan. No brainer. Building; history, scenery, location

I suppose it depends on whether you are allied with the McLeods (Dunvegan) or the MacDonalds (Armadale)! I have visited both. Armadale is a picturesque ruin in beautiful gardens and they have put quite an interesting exhibition together in one of the larger portions. Dunvegan, also in lovely gardens, is a lived in home. I think I would go for Dunvegan as well.

Dunvegan, absolutely. Don't miss the seal trip.

Thanks for the input. I'll make Dunvegan my preference.
