site to watch train srtikes in Italy

Have been watching the seekitaly.com site for the train strike as we leave Fri and it said strike on 6th when I plan to go from Rome to Florence. Now all I get is Forbidden to use site. Anyone know some where else to check status of strikes.
Thanks as always.

minellac,

Go to slowtrav.com Then click on Italy, from there click on trip planning. There you will find info on upcoming strikes.

The official Italian strike website (in Italian) is at www.infrastrutturetrasporti.it/ click-on 'Calendario Scioperi Nazionali'.
Compare it to a site in English and you can figure-out all the players, like ENAV is the Air Traffic Controllers.

Hi

I checked Trenitalia's site but no news of any strike - http://www.trenitalia.it/en/notizie/...eri/index.html

I also checked this very comprehensive site for strike info -http://www.commissionegaranziasciopero.it/. The site is in Italian though. From what I can gather there is a 48 hour national rail strike on the 6th. However my ability to read Italian is a little rusty so don't quote me!

As an alternative have you looked into a bus service at all?

I don't know if this helps at all. Good luck anyway.

I've found what helps, some, in translating foreign language sites such as these mentioned is to copy sections of the text and then pasting them into the Google translator.
