SIM Cards: Portugal
Would someone please update me with information on SIM card use in Portugal.
I can purchase a Portuguese SIM on Ebay with E20 of call time from the dealer selling Vodaphone SIM cards. IT is a bid situation, but it can be purchased for $24. outright.
There is no information given on cost per minute of usage.
On another site, I found prices like .36 and .30 per minute for calls to the US and was wondering if this information is valid. I have converted the Euro prices.
We will mostly be in the country and I was thinking that the local SIM might be the best solution for coverage. But a Vodaphone SIM purchased in the Lisbon airport I know is more than $24.
Any help will be appreciated. Previouly we used a call back service. I had difficulty with it but that was about three years ago. So things may have changed.
Thanks

Alec. I bought the SIM on Ebay. It finally cost me about E17 (including the shipping and handling) with E20 worth of credit after doing the conversion from $ to E.
So not a tremendous bargain but good enough to have it ready to go when we land and are able to call ahead for the owner to meet us in Salir do Porto.
Vodafone in the Lisbon airport charged me at least E35 for the card and Servico Light. I have the receipt from last year.
I wish I could remember how much airtime I had but I know they explained to me that the E25 was only for the SIM. They sold me the Servico Light for E9.90
Thank you for your help.
