I can only tell you that you can buy sim cards at any phone store. I assume there will be one at BCN. Try looking at BCN webpage as they should list all stores there. I am not sure if international arriving flights will be walking past all stores.

Also, for anyone else.. latest sale price on phone PACK for a friend here bought at Corte Inglés was 19 euros. This included PHONE, sim card and 12 euros call time. These phone PACKS are the best deal.

You want to be careful with using the "unlocked" iPhone. You may find that when you use a local sim card that certain functions will cause your iPhone to eat up the time you put on the card. I haven't figured it out yet, but I ended up loosing about 30 EUR worth of time when using WiFi hot spots to check for mail and other services that should have been free. If you are just going to use it as a cell phone, then there shouldn't be any problem.

Hi danlotec,

I'm leaving for Spain in a week and am attempting to find out information about SIM cards. You said you had a GSM iPhone... did you unlock it yourself? If so what did you use?

Also, how did you find the SIM card you ended up using? Did it work well?
Thanks!

pehirsch, I use both a MoviStar and Vodafone sim. My iPhone is "unlocked" using software from www.autoiphoneunlocker.com. It's referred to as "jailbreaking" the iPhone. It's actually quite easy and inexpensive.
