Sicily: Is day trip to Malta worth it?

Hi,
we're going to be in Sicily in early Oct. for 2 weeks, spending 3 nights in the Modica area. I'm debating whether we should take one day and visit Malta (Valetta) on the ferry from Pozzole. Is this worth the time and money, and will we see enough of Valetta to justify it? Or, should we just concentrate on visiting the baroque towns and area around Modica?
Thanks for your input!

You can see Valletta in a day since it's small, as are all the towns on Malta. I would not take the 3 hour round trip to Malta just for a day. Valletta doesn't have anything so special that it's worth leaving Sicily for. And there's much more to Malta than Valletta and the island is worth more than a day. I spent 12 days there (including Gozo).

No, enjoy Sicily and be sure to include Noto.

Thanks adrienne and bobthenavigator,
