Sicily in June

Can any one recommend a good hotel with views and balconies for two weeks, 50 year old, love ancient history, luxury, is B&B or all inclusive best, can anyone recommend a nice coastal town with interesting restaurants and views convenient for the sites?

Taormina is a popular location as it is very beautiful and has some stunning ruins.
If you will be in Sicily for a full 2 weeks, would you consider staying oon one part of the island for a week and another part of the island for the second week? You will be able to see more of the ruins this way.

Hello again,
I suggest reading this trip report. It's one of the bext I've come across on Sicily.

I'd also suggest topping this post in the morning when more of the regulars are on the board... they can probably give you better advice about which two base areas would be good to choose to maximize your sightseeing (while at the same time, avoiding the exhausting routine of changing hotels every couple of nights).

We stayed at Relais Santa Anastasia in June, 2006. Beautiful hotel/winery in the hills above Cefalu. Cefalu is a very pretty coastal town about an hour from Palermo.

Villa Praioli on the eastern coast is lovely. The veranda on one side looks out on the Ionian Sea--the other side looks directly onto Mt.Etna. If you go here http://www.janeandken.com/Sicily.html you can see pictures of the villa and information about the area and other parts of Sicily. This was in 2004 but we were back last summer and everything from 2004 is just as relevant. This is what I wrote on my blog this year http://janeandken.blogspot.com/2007/...the-oasis.html
