Shuttle Inter Tipping

Hi all...through your generous advice, my family is nearly ready to embark on our one month visit to Paris. I've lined up Shuttle Inter to deliver us to the apartment from CDG. Do you tip them? We are traveling with our 2 year old son and they are providing a car seat and we'll have about 5 pieces of luggage so it won't be the easiest transport they've ever had

I would certainly tip them with that much luggage, assuming they help load and unload. Whomever is not watching the 2-year old should help or offer.

And, my tip would be larger if they helped place the luggage in or near the door to the flat's building--can't expect them to leave the shuttle unattended to do anything more.

Hi, This is "my" shuttle service that I have been using for some time and I keep telling all how great they are!! I have used them so much that they have gradually dropped the price for me. I have just made my reservations for my April/May month stay. They are now charging me only 80 euros round trip!

They told me to tell "friends" to mention my name as they would like to give all a discount. One friend made her reservation and they redeived a 5 euros discount on their return trip. I'm sure when they make their next reservations, and tell them how pleased they were with the previous, that they will receive the 5 euros for each way..at least that is the way it worked for me..way back when.

Tipping, yes! You will just have to see how helpful they are and go from there. I know they always help me by taking bags inside for me. I give them 10 euros each way..with my discount, I feel it is a real bargain, and they are always very pleased!

Enjoy...

I took gracejoan's advice on our last trip and booked with shuttle-inter too. And was I ever glad as we hit a huge traffic jam on our way into the city. My usual cab fare would have been greatly increased. Our driver did carry our bags into the entrasnce to our apt. and I was delighted to give him a tip for his kindness and helpfulness.

Joan-I booked them based on a previous thread in which you recommended them. I am already pleased with their very quick reply to my requests. Thanks again for sharing this information, I'll mention your name for our return. I am sure my tip will not only be based on their service, but what if any screaming and whining they have to put up with from my normally quite cheerful 2 year old who will be coming off a flight where he either a. Slept the whole way or b. not at all

JenG,

Go ahead and send them an e-mail. Tell them that you forgot that you were supposed to mention my name to get the discount that they wanted to give. I'm sure that you will receive a return e-mail with a discount. Even if only 5 euros..better than nothing...

I also booked them on the strength of your enthusiastic recommendations. We always take public transport, but I broke both my feet in December, and I have a chronic illness on top that. This week I have bronchitis! I just couldn't face the RER after two flights from home to Paris. We leave this coming Saturday.

My DH is usually in favor of the cheapest way into town, but he insisted that I book the car service. I am very grateful to you, and him. I'm actually looking forward to a relaxing arrival.

tuscanlifeedit,

You need the easy transportation this trip!!

Be sure and ask about the discount.

I'm sure you will be pleased with their service. I'm delighted that I found them. All others who have used them seem to be pleaseda, also.

Have a good trip...

Hi JG,

IME Europeans are far less accustomed to tips than are Americans.

You give a tip for extra service, not just because they are doing their job.

Gracejoan,

Does Shuttle Inter pick up multiple parties or, as it sounds like, is it a car service?

Thanks and thanks for the info on a discount.

My experiences with this particular transportation company, is their extra service, promptness and dependability, along with fast e-mail response.

I not only tip them well but I also send them an e-mail thanking them. This may be at least part of the reason that they only charge me 40 euros each way, AND they want to give all my "friends" a discount, too!
