Shuttle from CDG to Bayeux
I'll be flying into CDG on a Friday morning and travelling on to Bayeux. We were looking to take a train but there is some lag in time getting us in to Bayeaux around 5:00 pm. Does anyone know of a shuttle service that will take us from CDG to Bayeux directly? Driving ourselves is not an option.
Thank you

Go to

and enter "CDG" and "Bayeux" and your arrival time + 1/2 hour as a rough estimate, and you will see your train options. Entering the date is important, because not all trains run every day. I see a 12:02 tomorrow that arrives at 3:05.
In any event, you will arrive in Paris proper at one station and depart from another, so you will need to plan for crossing town from Gare du Nord to Gare St. Lazare by taxi or Métro.

I doubt you could make a 12:03 train if your plane arrives at 11:15. It takes an obscenely long time from touchdown to getting through passport control at CDG most of the time, and if you've checked luggage, that will eat up time as well, and then you've got to get to the Gare St-Lazare. I don't think you'll make the 12:25, either. No matter how you do it, I think a late afternoon arrival inBayeux is in store for you. I've never heard of anything like a shuttle from CDG to Bayeux - it's not a major city or someplace that shuttles would likely be headed.

I don't think so -- but I travel light and know Paris like my own back yard. If I were doing your trip, I'd probably shoot for the 13:33 out of CDG, take the Métro from Gare du Nord to Gare St. Lazare (one transfer, minimum hassle).

According to www.bahn.de, *on Fridays only* there is a train that leaves Gare Saint-Lazare at 13:08 and arrives in Caen at 15:10. You change there to a train that leaves at 15:42 and arrives in Bayeux at 15:58. Take the RER B Line from CDG to Gare du Nord, take a very short connecting walk to the Magenta RER station, take the RER E Line to Hausmann Saint-Lazare, and then take a very short connecting walk to Gare Saint-Lazare.

Tim - that's a lot of "connecting walks" if you're shlepping multiple suitcases.
I guess it depends on what your personal parameters are. For newbie travelers, I don't recommend anything that involves a lot of getting on and off trains, because keeping track of all that information without anxiety detracts from the enjoyment of your vacation.
Some people prefer "minimum time enroute." Others go for "earliest arrival time." Many appreciate "minimum transfers."

ashleybeau: Do you know which terminal your plane arrives at? If it's in Terminal 2, you're in luck, because that's where the train station is, and you should be able to make that 12:03 train that Robespierre is referring to. If you fly into Terminal 1 you'll have to catch a shuttle to the other terminal, and that might be pushing it.

Robespierre - You're certainly right that my RER route, with changes, would be a challenge for someone with a lot of suitcases. A simpler alternative would be to take the Roissybus from CDG to Opera and then take a very short taxi ride from there to Gare Saint-Lazare.

That's right - and it's one more transfer to add to your worries.
You know what you might want to do? Compare the prices of all the transport options from CDG to Gare St. Lazare, and see if the premium you'll pay for a door-to-door taxi ride is worth it to you.
