should we booked?

Hi,

my boyfriend and I will be in Italy from October 2nd to October 15th. We plan to visit Milan (24hrs), Venice, Florence and Roma. My boyfriend has heard that it is not necessary to book hotels/B&B during that time as it is not the busy season in Italy. I would like to know if this is a good idea or not? Should we booked or not?

Thanks for your help!!

Personally I would book ahead for several reasons:

1) You have a btter idea of what you are getting
2) You don't have to spend valuable vacation time looking for a place to sleep

You might ask your boyfriend if he has also "heard" of anyone who actually went during that time and didn't book ahead.

Have a great trip.

I, too, vote for book ahead. Between now and then, the "better deals" get taken; the "worse deals" get left available.

Best wishes,

Rex

Now you have two versions of this same question going (probably an innocent mistake - - presumably you weren't sure if your post "took&quot. They will never be linked in anyway. Retrieve any of your posts by clicking on your own name.

I agree. Eventhough, I have traveled in that area before in October with no reservations, and I was able to find a hotel room thru the tourist counter at the major train stations; however, the disadvantage of that is that you get the leftovers and you don't know if it's good or bad, you loose time waiting on line or shopping around at that particular moment. Plan ahead, do your little homework by looking at different websites including fodors, tripadvisor.com, etc. It's definitely worth it, specially if this is the first time for the both of you.
