Shopping in Paris - for a globe and other treasures.
I will be going to Paris for 2 weeks in January. I would like to bring home a small globe (for the travel section of my bookcase). I do not necessarily need an expensive antique but I would like it to be in French.
Any other suggestions for interesting shopping would be appreciated.
Thank you

A couple of years ago I picked up that exact thing at a stationary store. I'm sorry that I can't tell you where it was as I was working my way from Galleries Lafayette to Gare du Nord and was in "wander mode", but I wouldn't think it would be that hard to find stationary/business supply stores in Paris. I'll have a look at my map and see if I can figure out where I was. The one I have is made of plastic, is about 5" high and rotates on two different axis. Good luck!

rue Jacob, Left Bank.
Many small shops and antique stores. Globes and all sorts of wonderful treasures to be found!
If they are $$ there are also shops on Blvd St Germaine that have globes and school supplies
As a shopper, I find most streets in Paris have something that I like

Thanks to everyone for such detailed replies. It looks like I will have fun shopping for a new globe.
I enjoy bringing something home from my trips that I can see and use often.
Last year I brought home new kitchen towels. Everyday in the kitchen reminds me of Paris now.
Thank you again
