Have a good time, and let us know about any great handbag finds! I love handbags, and don't want one that everyone has. For something really exclusive though, you would have to go to Delvaux in Brussels (don't think they have a Paris shop)

Jal---the girl emailed me PIX of the handbags...it looked just like the bags that Mclaurie posted from the newpaper...Made in Italy-not China..I asked....
But Ebay keeps pulling them off since they are FAKES of REAL Hermes bags....
If you want me to send to you , I will...but the girl wants a FORTUNE for these little plastic Capri totes...like
$325....So I won't pay that for PLASTIC...unless McLaurie can tell me what they sell for in Capri??????

Thanks for the offer Andy, but I'm not interested in paying that much
There are 3 sizes & I think the original prices were $125-275. I still can't understand what all the fuss is about. There are LEATHER bags, fashioned like Hermes bags, that are sold in lots of stores. These are much more likely to be mistaken for the real thing. BTW, my favorite shop for bags in NYC is Suarez at Park & 56th. They have Hermes look alikes.

Tulips, agree with you on Delvaux! One of the elegant "sac a dos" is on my Christmas list. FYI, Hermes and Delvaux "share" many craftsmen--there are artisans at Delvaux who came from Hermes and vice versa.
Tulips, have you checked out the Secondo store in Brugge (behind the Crowne Plaza hotel)? GREAT prices on nearly new Delvaux bags in perfect condition--they go for about 30% of the original price. Also a good selection of other top name bags--Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Longchamp, Lancel, etc. Everything guaranteed to be the original and they don't sell anything that isn't in excellent condition.

I don't know that shop in Brugge; will check it out, thanks for the tip. Delvaux are my absolute favorite bags; they are the ones I use every day. For handbag afficionados in Belgium there is a handbag exhibition at the Fashion museum in Hasselt.

could someone give me better directions to find the handbag shop owned by the asian woman, who is near the rue st. honoree? i will be in paris next week, and am very interested in shopping for some bags. I am currently carrying burberry, and do not see a lot of them in the mid west, but would like to branch out a little. thanks.

Why has this thread from 2003 resurfaced?
Avalon: As for the rue Cherche Midi and handbags, there are a lot of stores on that street. I shop it for handbags; Francesco Biasia, Karine Dupont, Fausto Santini, Groom, etc..Happy Travels!
