Did you learn how to say small in Spanish before your trip. The next time I go anywhere where English is not the official language, I'll learn the word for small in the local language. lol.

I am sorry this happened to you. Did you report it to the police? I would have done. It wouldn't have caught him or helped you but it means they are aware of him and may even step up patrols there.
Whilst men exposing themselves are usually harmless it can escalate to a real assault if you make a comment, especially of the jokey knd mentioned here. They can also move on from satisfying themselves in this way to real assault and rape eventually.

And since some perverts do have a favorite spot so to speak, I think the OP's original post is valid. Of course it can happen anywhere but maybe this pervert shows up at this place most mornings for his exercise.
I don't plan a trip to Seville anytime soon, but I thank the poster for the heads-up.

I have a funny story. Thirty four years ago, I was walking with a friend as she pushed her new born baby and carriage along a street bordering our city park. In those days there were very few cars, and one could park anywhere.

A parked car ahead had a man in the driver's seat. I was not paying attention to him, but something strange had caught my innocent friend's eye.

He was moving in a strange way in the driver's seat to such a point she got alarmed and thought he was having an attack of some sort and pulled on me to get closer, check it out and help him quickly!

As I approached it was quite obvious what his open-mouthed , head upturned convulsion was about as I could easily see into the front seat!...

She couldn't believe she almost had me calling an ambulance!

Hunterl, your warning was valid. It is sad that responses have to be so cavalier. There is sophisticated banter and there is unsophisticated fun-poking and you got the latter (as I assume will I for not being amused that you were off put). You were clearly not a parochial person maligning anything about Spain. You were simply disturbed and rightfully so. It is not funny to be a woman subject to that sort of pervert, but apparently kind of funny to some even in the 21st century.

My sharp tongued sister once had a similar thing happen... she pointed, laughed and said "That looks just like a penis, only smaller!"

The now deflated miscreant turned and fled!

LizTD: "<i>You were clearly not a parochial person maligning anything about Spain.</i>" Huh? That is exactly what the OP was doing. The title of this thread is just plain silly. The situation has little to do w/ Seville - or Spain for that matter. Warning ladies to watch out for that gentleman in that place is next to useless. I seriously doubt he is still in the area.

I've see nekkid men (or flashers) 1) while I was punting down the Isis river in the center of Oxford, 2) from two different boats on the Seine in Paris, 3) walking in Golden Gate Park in SF, 4) in Munich, and 2 or 3 other times.

Along a similar vein, when I was in Seville last June, I turned a corner and found a very unkempt looking man urinating on the sidewalk.

I was extremely careful where I walked during the rest of my visit to Seville.

"I thank the poster for the heads-up."

I don't believe she was that explicit.

Dayenu, janisj just posted a list for your, start planning your upcoming vacation. lol.

All jokes aside, this does happen EVERYWHERE, and is not unique to Spain, or Seville. Unless, this happens in the same park several times a day, I do not understand this purpose of this thread. However, I think a discussion about the the subject is waranted.

Sorry for your morning surprise, hunterl. I've had similar surprises, all in the U.S. and in very public places.

While I was waiting to cross a street in Beverly Hills at lunchtime, a large truck stopped in the lane closest to the curb and right in front of me. The driver was having a wonderful time with himself (while driving, for heaven's sake!), apparently not oblivious to the fact that I and the others standing near me could plainly see what he was "up" to. The older woman next to me called out, "Put that silly thing away, you fool! Nobody wants to see your little hot dog!" Well, the rest of us standing there just screamed with laughter which caught the attention of other pedestrians and drivers. Mr. Little Hot Dog, actually looking a little embarassed, quickly covered his lap and made a fast getaway.

But I'm going to remember the "just like a penis, only smaller line." That's a winner.

I've been thinking about this thread. It's sort of sexist. You think guys like to see this sort of thing?

You mean women exposing themselves? How would that work?

That is what Jerry Springer is for.

I think it's ridiculous to compare experiencing a flasher while walking alone on a path, to walking in the English Gardens in Munich where everyone knows that nudity is expected and accepted. To the original poster, sorry you had that experience. I think it's always good to be aware of hazards, so thanks for posting. I'm sure everyone can figure out that Seville is not the only place this ever happens.

There was a time last winter when it was so cold, the flashers resorted to just handing out 8X10 glossys.
