Seville or Cordoba?

Seville or Cordoba?
We will be arriving in Seville at noon on Friday and will be leaving for Madrid by train early in the evening on Saturday. We would like your opinions as to whether we should spend all of our time in Seville or attempt to visit Cordoba as well. If we go to Cordoba we will have to leave Seville early afternoon , spend three hours in Cordoba and then take the train to Madrid from Cordoba. We would welcome any thoughts on this matter.

Stay in Seville.
The Alcazar (was more impressed with this than the Alhambra in Granada)- don't miss, Casa Pilates (take the upstairs tour as well as downstairs)-more impressed than I expected, Cathedral (skip depending upon what you've already seen and if you're a cathedral goer), Plaza Espania - nicer than I expected, wander Santa Cruz among others will keep you busy.
You don't mention when you'll be there. We were there the beginning of June and the thermometer on the street read 30 degrees (C). At that temperature you won't walk too fast.
Our highlights of Spain were Seville and Barcelona.

Would encourage a very stop in Cordoba to see Mezquita. Shouldn't take you more than half an hour if you do this very quickly.
I had more time than you did, but I did a quick stopover en route to Madrid so that I could see the Mezquita. As you probably know, the double arches are unique, and the center of the old mosque was ripped out for a church choir.
It must be one of the most interesting structures in the world.

Cordoba is a beautiful city and the Mezquita is a very, very special place. I think you won't regret the visit 
Seville is great but I don't agree at all with Myer. The Alhambra is the most beautiful place I've seen and , although The Alcazar of Seville worths by itself a visit to Seville, I won't change it for the Alhambra
Take care with Sevillian taxists..they have fame here in Spain because their rudeness Of course, there are exceptions ! If you have time, go the Macarena Basilic. It gives you a perspective of how the Seville Holy Week is

You have so little time in Seville as it is, don't shorten it even further. I agree that the Mezquita is worth seeing but I wouldn't take the time on this trip unless I had at least 3 days in Seville. Seville is an alive, colorful, vibrant city and grows on you with each day. See the Cathedral, the Alcazar, the Casa Pilates, stroll in Santa Cruz and stop for tapas; attend a flamenco show. Seville is something to be experienced - spend as much time as you can.

first thing in sevilla take the carriage tour ( about 30 euros) to get acquainted with the layout of the city and monuments.
i regretted not doing it at beginning of our short trip, because later i felt we had seen most of what the ride would have shown us. it will take you to some places quite a distance if you were thinking of walking it.
i wrote a report about our weekend there, if you can find it under my name.
it was from february.
about cordoba.
you could at least go to the mosque between trains at cordoba, i would think. give yourself three hours there and take a taxi, at least you won't be asking yourself if you should have gone.
but i don't see how you have the time to rob it from sevilla.
or save it for another trip. i am sure you will want to return.
