Sue,

Sorry, no personal experiences doing this specific itinerary, but I do have experience getting around Spain in general.

If you're not driving, then the choices are plane, train, or bus. The Spanish train network, Renfe, has a decent web site (English version's home page is at http://www.renfe.es/ingles/index.html), where you could check out timetables and fares. There are direct services Sevilla-Granada and Granada-Madrid. Sevilla-Granada is reasonable timewise, in the neighborhood of 3 hours, but Granada-Madrid is around 6 hours and somewhat more expensive. If your Granada-Madrid segment is to be taken just before flying out of the country, you might want to consider flying instead.

How are you getting to Sevilla? You mention "back" to Madrid implying you are starting out there.

Hi sue,
I actually had a similar itinerary (twice!) and took the bus. Actaully, I took the busses all around Spain and it was wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. Much cheaper than a train too. But, if you have the money, I'm sure the AVE is quite nice, and very fast. Probably hard to go wrong, whatever you end up doing.

Sue, Just did this itinerary: Seville to Granada by train (incredible scenery; 2 hours, 45 mins.). Then Granada to Cordoba by bus (Greyhound-like, very comfortable, also quite scenic; 2 hours, 30 mins.). Then back to Madrid by train (the AVE station is directly across the street from the bus station in Cordoba; it was a quick trip from there, but can't recall exact time it took).

Hope this helps.

Bill
