Sevilla apartment recommendations

Hello fellow travellers.
I am having trouble finding a suitable apartment in Sevilla for 4 night stay in June 2012. We will be a party of three and require two bedrooms - budget probably up to170 euro per night ( my son will be celebrating his birthday whilst we are there so something "nice.")

I am a little frustrated with sevilla5 apartments as I emailed requesting to book PlazaSanta Cruz and was told they only take bookings 6 months in advance and could I email back in December.
I then found the same property on Homeaway, emailed 'owner' last night and this morning have received another email from Sevilla5 saying the apartment is not available and offering me other alternatives - none of which I am that keen on.

Does anyone have any personal recommendations please?

does it have to be an apartment? Seville is full of little hotels which would probably find you two rooms for the same price.

we've only been once, but it did not strike me as a place that was likely to be full of apartments!

Thanks danon, have looked at spain select (gorgeous properties) but they are a little pricey... the one I liked was a two bedroom and the price was OK (220 euros, I was willing to push up for special occasion!) but then I read add another 55 euro for more than 2 people! Interesting they charge extra for more than 2 for a two bedroom apartment.

Does anyone know http://www.casasmoratinsevilla.com/index_en.html

I can find one very brief review on another website which mentions noise?

annhig, yes we prefer apartments and I have managed to achieve that just about everywhere else on our trip so far!

This might be just ideal, nice looking apartment in the great atmosphere Arenal area with balcony and roof top terrace. Two bedrooms, sleeps four. Close to everything, fabulous local tapas bars/restaurants on your doorstep, the main sights in the beautiful but touristy Santa Cruz district are five mins walk away. Click on "Antonia Diaz". 130€/day-800€ pr. week. http://www.sevilla5.com/apartments/seville.html

If you decide the apartment in Antonia Diaz, I can highly recommend these tapas bars/restaurants close by: Enrique Becerra and Bodega Antonio Romero, and one of my absolute favourites in Sevilla, Bodegas Diaz Salazar in C/García de Vinuesa, 20. A branch of the very popular Mesón Serranito is also on "your" street, C/ Antonia Diaz, 11. The solomillo al roquefort tapas is to die for!

You probably know of all the "normal" sights in Sevilla, but I will suggest you go and see the "Hospital de la Caridad", very close to your apartment. As "Sevilla" as it gets. The 17th century main sponsor of this hospital for the old and sick, the repenting Miguel Mañara, was - according to himself - "the most evil man that ever lived". All the paintings he commisioned from some of the most famous golden-age arists for the hospital and its adjoining church dealt with the theme of death and redemption. The hospital, the church, the paintings and Mañara's grave are all in Calle Temprado, 3.

Here are some very knowledgeable tapas bar suggestions in Sevilla, organized by districts: http://azahar-sevilla.com/sevilletapas/

The casasmoratinsevilla you mention is also in the atmospheric Arenal district. In my mind, ten times more interesting staying here than in the beautiful but very touristy Santa Cruz area. You are anyhow just 5-10 mins walk away from Santa Cruz, the Cathedral, the Reales Alcazares etc.
About the Arenal area: http://www.whatsevilla.com/el-arenal-sevilla.html

And remember, Sevilla is MUCH more than what attracts most tourists. Be sure to visit the Triana district across the river Guadalquivir, the former gypsy quarter and a cradle of flamenco culture. http://www.andalucia.com/cities/seville/triana.htm

I use to stay in the Arenal/Centre district or a bit north towards the San Lorenzo area with some of the best tapas bars in town. I especially recommend Eslava and Bodega Dos de Mayo.

I rented a very nice apartment from http://embrujodesevilla.com/index.html.
We were in Puerta Carmona, which on a quick glance I don't see listed, but they could have changed the name or sold that property. I was pleasantly surprised how clean and nice (and cool and quiet) the place was, at a great price.
