Sevilla 5 apartments - Is anyone familiar with quality?

Hello
I am considering staying at a Sevilla 5 apartment, http://www.sevilla5.com/hotels/hosta...-del-agua.html. Has anyone had experience with this apartment or Sevilla 5? It is listed as being in the Santa Cruz neighborhood.
The price -- 50 Euros-- per night just seems too low when you compare to some of the recommended Hostals and B&Bs in that area.
Thank you..

Hi springstraveler. We have rented through Sevilla5 and had a very positive experience. A friend traveling with her family of 5 this December also loved the apartment they rented through the site (Quiros - just off Plaza Nueva).

I don't know have any familiarity with the hotel (apartment?) you reference, but the location is good. As far as price, the apartment we rented (Arfe) was just on the on the other side of the cathedral in the Arenal area and was only 70E/night. It was lovely and well located. Quiros was something like 110 for a 2BR for 5 people.

Here's a link to a previous thread where I comment on our unit: http://www.fodors.com/community/euro...for-a-week.cfm

Hostal Callejon del Agua looks basic and fine, gets quite ok reviews: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Rev...Andalusia.html

It's in the midst of the beautiful (and somewhat touristy) Santa Cruz district. You are close to very popular Las Columnas with great tapas and atmosphere: http://azahar-sevilla.com/sevilletap...ga-santa-cruz/

Other well informed tapas suggestions for this area: http://azahar-sevilla.com/sevilletap...io-santa-cruz/

World class flamenco is right on your doorstep. Casa de la Memória is popular with tourists, but here only excellent artists perform. Pastora Galván from Sevilla, one of the absolute finest flamenco dancers in the world today, has performed here once a week for a long time.

Relax at the Arab bath house, Aire de Sevilla. Also on your doorstep. A friend of mine went five times in a week...http://www.airedesevilla.com/

Be sure to visit the Arenal area north-east of Santa Cruz, the San Lorenzo district north of Santa Cruz and Triana on the other side of the river.

Some teasers:
Arenal: Bodega Diaz Salazar, one of my absolute favourites in town: http://www.minube.com/fotos/rincon/1...slideshow-mode
http://www.whatsevilla.com/el-arenal-sevilla.html

San Lorenzo: These two fabulous places are 50 meters apart:
Eslava: http://azahar-sevilla.com/sevilletapas/category/eslava/
Bodega Dos de Mayo: http://azahar-sevilla.com/sevilletap...omment-page-1/

Triana: Have a drink along the riverside in Calle Betis. Lots of things happening in this district. Several great flamenco clubs/bars etc.

Thank you, Malloy95 and Kimhe,
I appreciate all your advice. I have printed out Kimhe's recommendations. I decided Callejon del Agua was too small. But, Arfe is booked. Quiros does have a one bedroom and it is available.
Again, thank you.

Excellent location! Right in the charming and more local feel Arenal district, 4 min walking to Santa Cruz, the Cathedral etc.

You are now very close to excellent Enrique Becerra, Bodega Antonio Romero and Bodegas Diaz Salazar (mentioned above). A branch of the very popular Mesón Serranito is also close, in C/ Antonia Diaz, 11.

You are now also very close to Hospital de la Caridad, in my mind one of the most interesting sites in the city. The 17th century repenting founder Miguel Mañara was - according to himself - "the most evil man that ever lived". All the paintings he commisioned from some of the most famous golden-age arists for the hospital and it's adjoining church dealt with the theme of death and redemption. The hospital, the church, the paintings and Mañara's grave are all in Calle Temprado, 3.

Enrique Becerra is excellent Andalucian food. Sit at the counter and order small plates. Don't miss the lamb meatballs and foie gras with apples, still thinking about it 2 years later...

Now, Sevilla5 says the Quiros apartments are booked. Any other good apartment ideas? I can pay 85 or 90 Euros but not more. Again, thank you

Hola

I would try emailling Sevilla5 and double check the apartments are indeed booked. Sometimes the online reservation doesn't match. Good luck.
