I am interested in visiting E. Guigal winery in ChateauneufdePaup? Any ideas on how to get a reservation for a tasting there or at any other winery in the region? Also, any good restaurants to recommend? I will be staying in St. Remey de Provence.

You can call the winery to make a reservation to visit. 04 75 56 10 18 However, September could be a problem for visiting many of the vineyards because it will be harvest. They usually close during that time.

There are many vineyards that don't require reservations - just can drive around the Chateauneuf region and you'll pass many.
Font de Michelle is another one of our favorites.

The drive up to Chateauneuf from St Remy will take you about an hour.

Charming, small restaurant fairly off the tourist path. Very good food, beautiful shaded terrace overlooking a garden for summer dining. Closed Wednesday

La Gousse d'Ail
Restaurant with great atmosphere, recently moved into a large old house on the 'ring' road around town - across from the church. Chef/owner is actually Dutch - but the food is French and although good, I think the move to bigger quarters has led to some deterioration Bouillabaisse is served on Tuesdays. There is sidewalk terrace for outdoor dining in good weather.

L'Apostrophe
Newer brasserie . Fusion cuisine - French, Thai, Antilles Islands, Chinese, Moroccan. The food is very good - although some portions are a bit large.
It has a two tiered terrace with a view of the church. And the chairs are very comfortable. Prices are reasonable - entrees are in the 7 euro range and main courses around 14 euro.

La Goussed d'Ail = good restaurant in st remy

just noticed PB's post recommending the same...we were there in sept of 2003 not sure if it was before or after the move. there was an outdoor patio along the front and if i remember, it looked like a converted older style car repair garage (stylishly well done conversion).

All her recommendations I can say are wonderful,but I have never been to L'Apostrophe. But there are many other good restaurants also in the area, if you don't mind a drive.

We also liked the Bistrot du Paradou, not far from St-Rémy.

If you go on a Friday , "the Bistro du Paradou," serves the "grand aioli." That's how I first started making lunch a yearly visit when looking for a place that serves it. The food is not always greater than.. but always as good and the ambiance better,
