Hi everyone

I'm trying to keep my suitcase packed reasonably well but I'm not certain whether I should pack a fleece lined jacket for any cool/cold weather in Germische Bertschgaden areas. Time period will be last week of September - first week October.

Would only be necessary if you are staying on top of mountain. Have been in those areas and in Swiss mountains at same time of year. Rain protected wool lined parka plus a wool sweater (when necessary) usually enough. Warm hat or hood would be good.

Check weather.com before leaving for 10 day forecasts. This will help you in deciding what to pack. We can get beautiful sunshine or snow during that time period in the mountains.

I have been checking weather.com but since I'll be travelling for a month I am hoping for such first hand thoughts. I am planning to layer clothing and hope to forego as many heavy clothes as possible.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Schuler has good advice! It's close to possible to tell 3 weeks before. Todays was warm, 29C max. But it'll change fast.
