What sort of discount card? For trains, or what?

I've not heard of one of these. For attractions, theatres etc with senior discounts, you just ask for the discount, and show proof of age, I suppose, if asked. I've booked theatre tickets for my parents and not had to prove their ages.

Just ask for OAP (which is Old Age Pensioner), not quite as grand sounding as senior citizen but it gets the discount without any proof. Of course you probably have to LOOK THE PART. Have a good time.

As others have said, you generally don't need a card to get the senior concessionary rate. But, to get the senior discount for the national rail network, you need to buy a senior railcard, at a cost of £18, good for one year, which gets you about 1/3rd off most rail fares. There is a similar card for National Express, the national coach (bus) system. You need to be 60+ for the railcard and 50+ for the coach card.

Most attractions have a senior discount, just ask and it's yours! They don't normally ask for proof of age.
