Senigallia (Italy): food lovers' paradise
I've been saying it for some time, but I don't know if anyone is listening: Senigallia, a small city on the Adriatic Coast in Le Marche, is one of the best destinations in Italy if you love good food. Now Gambero Rosso, Italy's most well-known restaurant guide is backing me up on that.

The article is, obviously, in Italian, but you can copy the link and paste it into translate.google.com to get a decent translation. (For some reason, they translated Uliassi into Ulyassi, so remember, if you want to make a reservation, that y should be an i)
The whole atmosphere of Senigallia is conducive to good eating. Two of my favorite restaurants there are Raggiazzurra:

Agree one thousand percent. We spent about 5 nights there before COVID. One of the best trips we'd taken in Europe. Long, sandy beach, walled inner city, fantastic restaurants including one of my favorites in Europe.......yes, Uliassi!!
This fall we plan to explore the Adriatic coast further south, in Molise, but Senigallia will be on my radar for as long as I can travel. GREAT to have all of this new information. (we will begin in Basilicata so Le Marche is too far to drive on this upcoming trip) Maybe this will be our next visit to Italy....
We ate in a wonderful, very small, trattorie inland from the coast of Senegallia ....in Bargni. The name is DA GUSTIN. Memorable in every way......

Couldn't agree more. A few yeas ago--pre-pandemic, so 2019--I stayed several nights in Senigallia, largely because I had read of the quality of the restaurants there. I was not disappointed. I recall really enjoying Nana Piccolo Bistro, Sepia by Niko and Uliassi (one of my best fine dining meals ever). Had some great baked goods and sandwiches that I packed away for days I spent hiking. And fantastic gelato.
I remember a woman on Chowhound who lived in Rome used to go for the weekends there and give updates on the restaurant scene. eks, do you recall who that was?

Leely. Was this VinoRoma, or something close?? She was the one who originally pointed me to Senigallia and now we have BVLenci!

We came from the direction of Norcia, and then Bargni, where we had lunch, before arriving in Senigallia.
I need to begin a plan for a future trip that would include Senigallia as the focus, In shoulder season, not summer.

Sorry to have missed all the updates and questions on this thread. I left for a trip to the US the day I posted it, and just got back.
Both Uliassi and Madonnina del Pescatore have more informal dining in Senigallia.
Caffè Uliassi is on the state highway SS16 north of the center.
Anikò is on Piazza Saffi in the center of Senigallia, and specialises in seafood appetizers.
I've never been to either of these.
I mentioned two of my favorite non-starred restaurants earlier. Another is Il Cuoco di Bordo. Il Galeone is also supposed to be excellent, but I've never eaten there.
