Self guided cycling in Provence
I'm unclear about the ease of getting from Avignon TGV to LÍsle Sur La Sorgue.
I am concerned that the direct bus from Avignon TGV is too infrequent.
If that's the case, then we'll need to transfer to to Avignon Centre. Is the bus from there our best option? (how frequent & how long is the trip?) Any details welcome.
OR is the train from Avignon Centre the best option? Are they direct? Frequent?
I am aiming to get to LÍsle Sur La Sorgue as a base for self guided cycling (1 or 2 days). Is this town a good choice for a cycling base? Can anyone recommend a full day cycling route out of this town and a recommendation for where we could hire bikes ?
I'm finding it hard to decide on a suitable base for cycling given that we are on public transport with only 2/3 days. I was originally looking at the Alpilles region. Is the Luberon region a better choice? My thanks

Hi, don't know these guys but they are on your doorstep luberon-biking.fr
also these guys https://www.francebikerentals.com/ a bit further away.
Have you used rome2rio to track down the bus movements, it is getting better as a tool but always click through to the detail and check that the timetable works on the day you have selected, often Sundays have different timetable and R2R's scrape software sometimes misses that.
What time of year are you traveling?
