@ ClareG: That looks like a wonderful hike! I don't know that I will have the strength or energy for all of it, but will see if I can work a small leg of that path into my plans. Thank you for the suggestion!

For that experience I am indebted to On Foot Holidays
I did cheat by opting for the train on some more challenging days on that route, but that particular track - a shady mule-track zig-zaging down into each gully and up again, with the Roya always audible below - was well within my capabilities and throughly enjoyable.
