Seefeld Accomodation

Hello All,
I have almost put the finishing touches on our Christmas Itinerary for next year 2018. After much research we have decided to base ourselves in Seefeld for Christmas for 7 days (20th -27th Dec). I think from there we should have a good balance of being able to do day trips as well as have a village Christmas and a little fun downtime in the snow.

We usually like self catering accommodation where we can prepare food as my son has a severe peanut allergy that can lead to anaphylaxis. However we are considering staying in a Hotel in Seefeld as we thought it may be nice to have the social side of a hotel over Christmas like being able to maybe head to a lounge area for a pre dinner drink or similar.

Therefore my question is does anybody have any recommendations for accommodation in Seefeld in terms of a hotel that may have bigger rooms that have a seating area or are there hotel style facilities but maybe with an apartment situation. Any help would be gratefully received. Kind Thanks

Seefeld in Tirol is one of our favorite places in Austria; we are returning for the third time for a period between Christmas and New Year's.

I do not wish to burst your holiday planning bubble, but you will encounter difficulties with lodging at this late date. Many of the self-catering apartments will be either booked, or require a seven-night stay; and the same can be said for the all-inclusive resorts. (We reserved our apartment for this year's holiday in early September).

If you are flexible, there are smaller villages near Seefeld that may have availability; also, Innsbruck is not far. Or, luck could be on your side (as it was for our first visit) and there will be a cancellation somewhere in Seefeld. In our n=3 we discovered that cancellations are generally permitted up to 32 days in advance, so you might find something!

As for recommendations, a family suite at the Bergresort Seefeld (with optional half-board) rates as our favorite. We have also stayed at one of the Kaltschmide properties, again in a family suite, though we did not make use of the dining options. This year we are in an apartment, but I can not yet offer commentary.

Viel Glück!

So right you are, Nonconformist! I absolutely missed that important point, but in doing so with my comments I hope that the OP will appreciate the need for early reservations.

Thank you very much for your responses and recommendations. I do indeed understand the need to book early and I am hoping that booking a year in advance will still offer some options. Thanks so much
