Ack! I am coming up short for a partial rental in LONDON over Christmas/New Years Eve!

So far all of the owners/agents I have contacted have informed me that their apartments are not available!

We need a 3 bedroom (sleep 5 adults, all beds, no sleep sofa) with a minimum of 1 1/2 bathrooms. We are open to all areas as long a Tube is within walking distance.

I've done a search here to find some more sites.

So far I have searched.

vrbo.com
londonguestsuites.com
Londonservicedapartments.com

Do you have any others to add?

Any personal recommendations for flats that may be available December 27, 2007 - January 1, 2008?

I'd love to make it a full week, but can't since we are staying 3 nights in Cambridge to visit family for Christmas.

Our budget is $450/night, but we are a bit flexible for the right place.

Thanks for your help!

The London School of Economics has apartments available during holidays (Christmas - Dec. 15 - Jan. 5, Easter, summers). Some are actually quite nice and well located with reasonable prices. Not all locations are available all holidays.

I don't think they are the only school that makes apartments and dorms available for tourists.

Do you have to have one apartment? What about two in one building or an apartment and a room? This one may be a little above your budget.

Thank you for the suggestions.

Yes, we need to have 1 apartment. If need be, I'll spend more money or put youngest son (poor guy) on a pull out couch if it's not located in the 2nd bedroom!

Any other sites?

Have you looked at LondonPerfect (www.londonperfect.com)? May be above your budget - I haven't checked their prices lately. Web site specifies minimum of one-week stay, but we stayed in the Cornwall flat for only 5 nights. Possibly worth a shot.

Ooops, knew I forgot one...yes, I did check out londonperfect.com, monet. Thanks.

The Somerset and Sloane are doable price-wise, but I was hoping to find a "real" bed for DS. Regardless, I will now contact them, to see if a partial is even available. That seems to be the problem.

There seems to be a few in your price range (if they're available) here:

Thank you, thank you. I will proceed to check out the newly added sites (I'm beginning to go a bit stir-crazy, lol).

Carrybean, the owner of the Chelsea apartment emailed me to tell me it was available. That was the one that you said I needed to check the location on. I'll email her back and ask (along with the rate).
