Seat selection in day trip from Venice to Vienna

Hi All,

i am trying to book tickets on the daytime train from Venice to Vienna. I understand that the left side is more scenic, however I don’t know how to identify which seats would be on the left based on the seat configuration shown as it does not show direction of the train.

Any information on how to identify seats that would be on the left?

If you haven't already, check the Seat61 website. The information you need may be on there.

I admit I don't know the route but something to consider.

Some stations the train enters and exits in one direction. In others it enters. Then backs out.

What I'm failing to explain is left and right can swap.

I agree with Nick. Even if you reserve the seat you can't be sure which way the car is facing.... It's like figuring out which end of a string is longer.
