season definitions

I'm beginning to plan my trip, and am not sure when high/low/shoulder seasons start and end. Any enlightenment would be appreciated.

tinker, it really depends on where you are travelling, for instance in Rome in the middle of August I have paid low season rates and at the same time on the coast at a beach resort will pay high season rates. Each hotel should have a listing on there web-sites. Typically summer is usually the high season everywhere except of course most mountain/skiing resorts.

"Season" definition very much dependent on destination, not only country but specific location and product. (Mountains vs. cities; air vs. hotel)

Ed

Low season is when its cheap, which varies with destination.
Start with the hotel price variations with time at your destination.
