Searching for Robbie Burns

On my last trip to the UK we went to a Robbie Burns night in Stirling/Bannockburn?? A short walk from Robert The Bruces wonderful statue. It was a terrific night in what I think was a restaurant or function place where they served a great meal and you listened to a fantastic rendition of Tam O'Shanter(?) god I hope I did not insult anyone it was a while ago now. And they piped the whiskey in too. I am trying to find the name of this place as we are in Scotland mid September and would like to go again. I know they have Robbie Burns Nights around 25th of January but this one was in June when i last went. Can anybody help?

Thanks Deb

Working with Google, I find a link for photos of statues, one of which may be yours. It is www.doughoughton.com/webpage/page/page129.html/.

Tony Blair visits a hospital and stops to talk to an elderly man.

"We sleekit cowrin, tim'rous beastie!" shouts the man, glaring.

Tony stops by another bed. "Some hae meat and cannae eat!" shouts the man.

"Is this the psychiatric unit?", asks Tony

"No it's the severe Burns unit"

What! You didn't got to Dumfries? He lived and penned there for awhile. The SW of Scotland is wonderful and mostly undiscovered by the hordes rushing for the highlands.

See also: Ayr - Robert Burns National Heritage Park.

My Scottish lassie and I had many a wee dram around RB's cottage and the eponymous bridge.
