Scottish Castle - St. Andrews

Is there a castle worth visiting between Edinburgh and St. Andrews or within an hour either way. We are staying in St. Andrews for 3 days of golf. Thanks.

Oh DEFINATELE go to Falkland and also Loch Leven if you are interested in MAry Queen of Scots. We also visited Aberdour castle and Dunfermline Abbey on our way from Edin. to the St. Andrews area. If you would like to see pics of these places spike your interest, our site is www.panteravb.com Have fun! (we really loved Falkland palace though, that's my suggestion)

Stirling and Glamis are wonderful - but for your route, Loch Leven and/or Falkland would be the easiest. Both are REALLY interesting and the gardens at Falkland are beautiful.
