Scotland Tour Companies

We will be unable to rent a car during our trip to Scotland due to the age limit for drivers. Has anyone used the local tour companies? The ones I have questions about are Caledonia Vacations (Andrew Ramsey) and Saltire Tours (Chris Thornton). Both seem to be good tours but I would feel more confident if someone had some experience with them. Dealing long distance is difficult. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks. This will be our first trip to Scotland. We usually hop in the car and go where we want, but I guess we have just become "old" at least to car rental companies. We do not want a large tour of 40 people.

I just did a search on Google under "car rental UK maximum age limit" and found the following websites that say there is no upper age limit:

http://www.uk-car-rental.net/html/faq.php

http://www.drivetravel.com/carrent/w...ritain03.shtml

http://www.britishcarrental.com/info.htm

Alamo looks like your best bet, as the lack of an upper age limit was mentioned on a few websites that are for mature travellers.

Good luck!

My sister and I, 58 and 60, took a 5 day, 4 night tour with Rabbies out of Edinburgh on May 12. They use 16 passenger vans (we had only 9 on our tour) and the driver was very flexible and informative. Customers had several options for accommodations. We were very pleased with the tour. I think their web address is: www.rabbies.com

We booked with Heart of Scotland Tours in May. The motor coach held about 20 people. Left Edinburgh at 8am and returned at 8pm. Very enjoyable tour.
