It was an easy trip, as you had indicated, to St. Germain-en-Laye but very warm that day. Sweltering. We had a picnic on the lawn in front of the chateau and I had my badly needed French lesson. Went to the ballet this evening. Highly enjoyable and now I´m really jazzed and should be going to bed.
Safe travels to you and Mr. Schnauzer!

Hi Leely, I am not sure if this will work, I will give it a go after I have posted. It is only for the few photos I took yesterday. If it works I can try doing the same for the other galleries.

Is anyone still reading this thing!!!! Nearly over folks I won't subject you to a daily grind from Italy. I will just do a little report of the highlights when I return home.

Today, my last day in Paris - boo hoo. I decided to head up to the marche puce to see what it was all about. Well, there is either a lot of cheap tat or expensive antiques which certainly wouldn't have fitted into the suitcase. So I managed to contain myself and not buy anything.
I headed back down to rue des Martyrs to see what the Rose Cafe was all about. I had a coffee and a scone. I didn't think much of the service, I had to wait a while until someone actually noticed me and then when I asked for a menu was told (in english) very curtly to wait and they would bring one soon. About four people had already walked up and down past me when it was obvious I had come in and needed to order. The coffee was good and hot and the scone very nice, only with jam no cream. (not that I needed the cream)but if they trying to do the english tea and scones thing then I think they should have the cream. Good marks for the food, low marks for the service.
I bought our last loaf of bread and our last pieces of ham aux herbes. Said goodbye to the lady in the little shop where we had been buying the ham and cheese from.
Spend the rest of the day packing up and tidying up all the rubbish we have collected over the past 4 weeks.
So folks, there you have it. Our month in Paris. It has been a blast, I have enjoyed it so much, living the apartment life, taking our time and seeing everything we have seen.
Thanks to those who have commented and to the others for reading along. I hope the report will help others in their quest to find some different things to do in Paris next time they are here. What a fantastic city - it certainly has that special magic for me.
Bye from Paris,

Finished! Is Kodak expensive-nice slide show. Loved the flower hats at Chelsea and am enjoying my vicarious walks with you and DH. As others have said, you are providing much for our to do list in Paris. ARE you planning Italy?

I haven't done much if any planning for Italy except for a few restaurant recommendations from fodor folk. My DH chose Italy so it was up to him to do some planning! So we will be having fun deciding what to do on a daily basis.
TDudette I don't understand your question re Kodak and expensive slide show. Can you ask again. It is a free service you can just join up for you don't have to pay for anything. They do ask that you buy some photos if you can.
Schnauzer (still here until early tomorrow)

I've loved reading your reports. Reports like your's are the only way I'm going to "see" Paris for some time, I'm afraid.
Your photo links above don't work for me. The windows just say "album not found".
Will be looking forward to hearing about Italy from you.

If you go to Rome try Checchino dal 1887 (need a taxi and reservations but it´s worth it). Not cheap, not expensive. It might feel like a bargain after Paris.
One of my top meals this past January--and I do loads of restaurant research.

Well all packed, last meal etc. Just answering before we switch off for the time being.
We are going to Santa Margherita Liguria for the week. Just staying in one spot again, which is unlike us but I must say I do like the unpacking just once.
Crefloors I have posted the albums throughout the report, that may be a better way of looking at the photos. Some can get the slide show and others can't that is why I posted it another way for Leely2. Have a scroll up and down and you will see the photo links. Hopefully that will work for you. Otherwise you will have to come to Sydney for a tea and slide show afternoon!!!
Kerouac thanks for all your helpful hints along the way, most kind. I am glad you still find listening to us outsiders babble on about what we are doing enjoyable. You know you will have to try and see the wrought iron museum in Rouen now!!!! Yes the weather today was just perfect - we must be going. We are back for one night only on the 7th June before we fly home to AUS. I am not looking forward to that little number that's for sure. I am hoping to come back before too long. But as I said to Joan it is a long way and costs a lot of money and our exchange rate is rubbish. Basically two for one at the moment. I did look at some apartments so I am already back here in my dreams!!
Trophywife - I am so glad you have enjoyed the trip. If we have internet access in Italy I might try reporting, but it does take such a huge amount of time to write it up and do the photos as you go. I may find the time in between the gelatos!!

kerouac,
I agree. So very often when my "running" report was going, the weather that I reported was different than what they were reading at home.
It was also different than the weather showed when I looked at Yahoo online weather! The Paris weather can change quickly and depends what part of town you are in. Really, no different than at home in trying to figure it out.

Hey guess what everyone, I have internet access at the Hotel Miremare in Santa Margherita so if you haven't become too bored with me I can continue on!!!! I may start a new thread though.
Celticmoon, thank you so much for your lovely compliment, I am glad you have enjoyed reading along.
Talking about the weather, we left Paris with perfect weather and now it is dodgy in SmL, can you believe it? I was determined to only bring summer things, the power of positive thinking and now it is raining. dang. Actually they said it was really cold this morning and then a storm and just as we arrived the sun came out (yay) and then during dinner it poured again. Let's hope tomorrow brings good weather as we want to do some walking. (like we haven't done enough in Paris!)
I will start a new thread about SML.
