Hi
If your first day is your arrival day from overseas, I would caution against
scheduling a major museum like the Uffizi. I don't know about you, but I usually arrive quite tired from lack of sleep on the plane, and find it hard to fully appreciate museums on those first days.
I've also found the Uffizi to present challenges in terms of visitor comforts, optimal lighting, etc, so I would recommend seeing it first thing in the morning when you are fresh.

The Uffizi is fabulous. It is big, so allow yourself many hours there.awe went in the morning. We did not wait in line too long.We were there in Sept. That really helped. Never travel in the summer months. Lines are long. Prices and temperatures are up.
Equally grand is Michelangelo's David. It was awesome.
Hope you have a wonderful trip. Florence is a fun city. Very walkable.
Janda

I'm made my reservation for Uffizi for first thing in the morning on a Saturday (3rd day out of 8 days total in Florence). I wanted to be able to make day trips during the weekdays when the buses were more available. I also wanted to see everything I really wanted to see early in the week, so I can have the choice of revisiting anything I loved later in the week.
