You should book ahead for your free seat by calling the following "numéro vert" : 0 800 800 072 (I am afraid it is only reachable from a French phone). Ladies, to your phones!

I wanted to take my daughters to a fashion show there last week, but unfortunately they don't have them during January and February.

But on the other hand, the sales are still going on.

The Gallerie Lafayette fashion show is great fun. Relatively small room and the models walk through the floor, not only on a ramp, allowing one to get great photos of them. Easy to register through the GL website. I believe it is under the "international" tab. After the show, take the escalator to the next "floor" which is the roof for wonderful views of the city. For the store discount, you need to stop at the visitor's desk which is near the escalator going to the 7th floor. Take a copy of your passport or have your driver's license with you for ID. They need to know you are a tourist.

Last year we went to the fashion show and although I had made reservations we had an extra person who wanted to attend. They have a waiting line at the door. They pack as many people as possible into that room. Your daughter will enjoy the show - even my 14-year old son liked the beautiful young girl models. It was the only time he didn't complain about being in a store!

Sadly, there are no such shows in January and February. So we are out of luck!

They should send you a confirmation email which you should take with you to the entrance of the show. They will have your name on a waiting list and you will get better seats. Have fun, it is fun.

Any idea how long a response takes? I used the [email protected] address listed above which I also found on their website.

It took a few days if I remember correctly. The first email from them had the wrong dates, I wrote back and then a bit later (few days) I got the correct date. I was glad I had the confirmation although it seemed like some people just got on the list earlier that day, but they didn't have our catwalk seats, ha!!!
