Savoy hotel

We are planning to stay at the Savoy hotel in Prague. I would like to get some feedback on this hotel. Is it in a good location?

I'm travelling to Prague, the Savoy offers too many deals on cheap sites such as priceline, so I'd be dubious of the clientele. I've booked the Boscolo Hotel, Carlo IV, this has a SPA to boot, whilst perhaps not the best location it looks quite stylish, and is reasonable.

Savoy has a web site with photos. Looks to be a very nice hotel. Havent stayed, but would like to from pics. It is rated as a five star hotel, so I would not be worried about it being nice. Oh, another note, though it does sometimes provide rooms to Priceline -- havent seen a winning bid to this hotel in over a year on the bidding boards for Priceline. So perhaps they no longer are releasing rooms -- Also, priceline has rooms to some of the best hotels and resorts so would not judge quality on that anyway. Look up the hotel on tripadvisor.com. It has good reviews.

Did you stay at the Savoy? If so, what did you think? I am considering booking for an 8-day trip.

It's a good hotel but there's only one issue. If you want to walk around the area you'll find that the Savoy is right at the top of the hill and most of Prague is at the bottom of the hill i.e. bring comfortable boots. You can use the trams OK but, there is no metro nearby.
