Thanks for posting that. Do you have anymore info? I googled but didn't get much. We're headed there next week. Oh well, not that I can do anything. But it's a little distressing.

It woke me up last night but it was just a small tremor. The epicenter was underwater some distance away from Santorini so it was minimal. There's no damage whatsoever. Don't worry.

Isabel, the reason you didn't get much when you googled is that it doesn't even make big news here (I live in Greece) unless it is a serious one. Earthquakes are numerous all over Greece, most are not even felt or noticed.
Check this site,

You will see that there are lots of earthquakes/tremors all around Greece, thankfully it's rare that any cause any damage. Since moving here I've actually got used to them when they can be felt, which is not often & we get far more here in the Peloponnese than on Santorini!

Of course Yiassas, there's very little that can shake YOU up!! PS: Loved Erik's photo of you at the Athens "do" -- he didn't pick the most flattering but your spirit shines thru!!

Not an extremely energetic quake: magnitude MW 4.8 (downgraded).

Epicenter (surface point directly over the quake fault) was about 11 miles north of Santorini:

I'm glad to hear there were no casualties or damage.

I was in Parga 2 years ago when there was one. I found it quite unnerving ...

And now, a substantial Magnitude 6.4 quake some 50 miles south of Crete's southern shore.
