The best of San Michele are the terraces.
Try, except July and August, Villa Carmencita: very pretty.
Have a nice trip.

Yes Marc, I'd suggest San Michele, because at Villa Carmencita, conditioned air is at charge.

We met a couple on their honeymoon two years ago who left San Michele ASAP for the Caesar Augustus across the street. Would recommend Caesar Augustus -- best views on the island.

Do you have your heart set on Anacapri? There are plenty of nice hotels in all price ranges on the rest of the island. On suggestion: be sure to try La Capanina for dinner. The food is incredible, and it has a nice home-y atmosphere with copper pans on the walls.

I can't tell you much about the other two hotels other than what I see on their web sites Marc, but the Caesar Augustus is just fabulous. In high season Anacapri is great to get away from crowds and the Caesar is top of the bunch.

But from the Capri web site, there is something you might want to keep in mind. The three hotels listed here vary widely in facilties and therefor price. Villa Carmencita is two star and is priced around US$85 for a double. San Michele is 3 priced around US$150 and Caesar Augustus four (basically a four plus) is more like US$225. So keep that in mind.
