San Francisco Whine & Dine GTG
I know that many of us locals/semi locals, are in some form of recovery - shoulders, neck/back, etc... but have expressed interest in getting together.
If anyone wants to take BART from the East Bay, I can pick you up at the Glenn Park Station and bring you back.
Old Atlas's are optional. What is the plural of Atlas?

Hi Nina66, I, up to recently, would go to the GlennPark Station as family members lived in GlennPark!
I would either take the ferry over and then catch BART at the Embarcadero St., and continue on to Glenn Park or go via BART..haven't done that since I moved to Vacaville (BART that is).
Right in this moment I cannot commit to an exact date due to some "stuff" going on here..but I am absolutely interested in your idea of a GTG. Maybe Underhill could join us, she lives in a neighboring city. We could come in together. I will bring my 1943 National Geographic Map! Great idea. Have a safe and fun 4th of July!

Dumb, dumb, dumb me .. Leely --- you are right, it is Glen (not Glenn) Park. I'm there almost weekly as it is about 10 minutes from my house in Noe Valley. We love Chenery Park - they make a mean Mojito too.
Also, and much worse... I inadvertently posted this on the Europe board and not the U.S.
(Possibly thinking that a few Romanians or Parisians might fly in ;-) )
I'm getting ready to go to a friend's for dinner, so I will re-post it to the US Board later.
LoveItaly .... This comes to mind because you live in Vacavile. We recently bought some meat at the Ferry Bldg. from Prather Meats. There was an article about them in the SF Chronicle. For the first time in YEARS, we tasted meat that tasted like meat used to.
Anyhoo, point being, is that they it is sold in a limited number of retail stores. They sell it in Vacaville at the Nugget Market on Browns Valley Parkway.
No, I don't work for them or have any connection, aside from being a well fed and very satisfied customer.
No hurry for the GTG, we're all here, or nearby, and even if we just have three or four, that would be fun.

Hi Nina, are you talking about the grass fed beef that WAS sold at Nuggets? If so it was totally fantastic but Nuggets is no longer selling it as there was not enough customers buying it.
Or is this another kind of beef? Please let me know when you can as I have to go to Nugget's in a few days.
I always buy their tuna packed in Italy from Nuggets. It is so good.

Yep - Trader Joe's - one needs a second mortage to buy it at Whole foods
I have to limit my visits there (WF) because every time I end up w/ teensy $5 jars of devon cream and all sorts of other "necessities" . . . . .

janisj, because I have a severe allergy to corn, beef which is grain fed (which includes corn) really can bother me. So the grassfed beef was a blessing. But the Nuggets in my city only carried it for a short amount of time
Underhill, if you would be kind enough to let me know if your Davis Nugget's carries the grassfed beef I would truly appreciate it. Thanks!!

LoveItaly ... Sorry, but I don't know anything about Nugget's except that I saw their name on Prather Ranch's site when I was looking for more convenient stores in SF. The Ferry Bldg. location is the only place they sell it in SF. They have a few other Northern Cal locations, but I didn't see Davis.
When I called them, using the contact number on their site, they said that they produce relatively small amounts of meat and therefore not too many retail stores carry it.
Check their site: http://www.pratherranch.com
for info on the meat itself. It is organic, but that's all I know, except for the obvious taste and high quality.
They say on their site that Prince Charles visited the ranch when he was here. I believe that he is a vegetarian, so I wonder why, although he is very active in organic food movement. Maybe he wanted to set the cattle free ;-)
I hope you can find it or that TJs meat will be suitable for you.
