It is in departement 85, as you know, and its postal code is 85210.

It is located at latitude 46.52 degrees north (which is roughly the same latitude from which I write to you, only I am in Ontario, Canada) and longitude 1.05 west (just of Greenwich)

Its nearest coordinates are the following: intersection of the A83 autoroute with Route nationale 137.

Between Nantes and La Rochelle, it is closer to La Rochelle.

If you go to www.mappy.com and type in the correct name - St Aubin du Plain - you will get a detailed map.

Well, that's interesting: Google seems to like St Aubin du Plain, but Mappy says it's St Aubin la Plaine. Ithink I'm as confused as the OP!

In addition to mappy, try viamichelin.com.

I think it is "la plaine". I have found many citations on French websites for St Aubin la plaine. It is tiny (292 inhabitants in 1990).

I am unaware of any masc. singular French word "plain" that could be used as a descriptor, though there is the adjective "plain", as in plain-pied = single-storey.
