Ryanair booking question
Has anyone booked a flight with Ryanair via their internet site?

I want to get a flight from Frankfurt (Hahn) to London (Stansted) for 2. I realize that I can get a better price if I make it roundtrip even though I won't use the return flight (makes no sense to me whatsoever but I will play their game!) What I don't understand is this ~ once you go to book your flight, you put in the specifics (2 passengers) are the prices they quote per passenger or total?

They don't list an email address which I find really disappointing!

If they ask how many passengers, the price they quote is for that many passengers. If you carry on with the booking they give you the total you have to pay (before you put any payment details in, so you are not committed). Perhaps you could try this.

Hope this helps

Nancy, I ran into a similar problem with Aer Lingus. One way Edinburgh to Dublin for 2 people was 350 pounds! I played their game and got a round trip for 200 dollars less! Go figure! And yes, their price was for 2 people, and they asked for the number of passengers. I finally went to Expedia and their prices were comparable, but their site was much more user friendly IMO. I don't know if expedia lists ryanair flights, but you can try.
Judy

My one prior experience with RyanAir, I used a regular face-to-face travel agent. In theory any IATA travel agent ought to be able to book RyanAir for you. Because the fares on RyanAir are so low, it might be nice to let the travel agent book your trans-atlantic air travel also.

Best wishes,

Rex
I booked with RyanAir over the phone:
Ryanair
4255 Amon Carter Boulevard, MD 4234, Fort Worth, TX 76155
(817) 967-0154
(817) 931-6291 (fax)
E-mail: [email protected]
The tickets were mailed to me. Be sure that you know whether your tickets are "flexible" or nonrefundable, as most discounted fares are.

I have travelled with Ryanair over and over and even got a ticket for 50p once and then the tax was £15. Anyway on the home page you enter the number of passengers, the dates and whether it is a round trip or one way. No matter what you pick, the price is always per person when the results appear after it has searched, it only takes a few seconds. You then have to choose the time you want by clicking on the little airplane next to the one you want. When you see the price quoted there it is PER PERSON PER JOURNEY. If I am complicating things, just put in the search details click on the times that you want and then on select and continue. It will then give you a total including tax and that total will be for 2 people! Remember you are not commited at this stage so don't be afraid. You are only committed after you enter the credit card info throught their secure server. It is safe!
It is easy peasy, try it!
Joan

Rex,

Re booking your flight with travel agents Ryanair no longer use the system that is used by travel agents. Ryanair reduced the commission it was paying to travel agents and they then decided not to handle the airline and then the airline decided to withdraw from the network that the agents use to book flights etc and have their own site available to all. This is a very brief summary of the row and so in reality Travel agents and passengers have to use the same method ie the Net.

Nancy - the prices quoted are for the total cost of the flights for the number of people you specified.

Hope this helps,
Cathy

Thanks, Cathy

Now that I read the post from Seamus (right after mine), my experience (which was in the fall of 99) is probably irrelevant anyhow.

I would think that this would provide reassurance (and access) to anyone not comfortable with the internet (or without easy access).
I booked over the net last year with no trouble. Be sure to check out various dates - by changing my itinerary by one day, the fare went from about 30 pounds to 4!! (plus a hefty tax). When travellig on Ryanair, be sure to get there in plenty of time - they won't hold the gate for you
