Hi Ivy,
When during Thanksgiving week are you in St Petersburg? I'll be there 11/24-11/28 leaving the 28th on the overnight train to Moscow. It's still not real to me yet!!
You might want to be a bit careful planning your itinerary as it will be the last week, many museums might have an extra closing day for cleaning.
I'll be doing Peter's Walking Tour (http://www.peterswalk.com), the Russian Museum, Hermitage, Peter and Paul Fortress, Church on Spilled Blood, and Issac's Cathedral. To name a few! I don't have my dates sussed out yet, but those are the main things I want to do so far. I'll also be doing the day trip out to Tsarskoe Selo (Pushkin) to tour both the Catherine and the Alexander Palaces.
I am definitely planning to see a performance at the Mariinsky Theatre.
