Really enjoyed this, Nikki - and plenty of ideas for my next trip.
To her dying day, my mother would quote a line from her school French textbook from the 1920s. The little dog of the Famille Dupont went missing, and finally reappeared to be greeted by the maid (this was the 1920s, after all) with "Ah! Te voilà déjà de retour, fripon!". I've never found an occasion where I could safely use it in France, though.

You had such a wonderful time and the crazy people you met really add colour to your report rather than adding stress to your vacation!
Oh, by crazy people I mean the screaming guy on the metro and the taxi drivers that regale you with conspiracy theories or drive like a madmen and not the Fodorites
Keeping my fingers crossed that you get the better of your smart phone & post photos soon!

Photos are finally organized, but I realized after uploading them that the Kodak Gallery website is closing in a month. This link should be good until then, I hope:

Wonderful report Nikki! Enjoyed every minute spent reading" laughed at your British "French" waiter story as the same thing happened to us at the Bistro de Paris. I complimented the waiter on his excellent English and then he told me he had lived in Detroit his whole childhood and was a graduate of the Uni. of Texas before coming back home to France!!

Loved your report when you wrote it back in March and so enjoyed your pictures today. I am very impressed with the details you got of the Chagall ceiling. I thought of renting the apartment you stayed in on my last trip, but I waited too long. It's so lovely that it's booked far in advance. Glad you got a chance to enjoy its garden. Have noted several of your restaurants for my next trip at the end of September. Thanks!
