Royal Horseguards

We are thinking of staying there and have checked trip advisor but wanted to see if anyone on this site ever stayed there and what they thought of the hotel itself and the area around it. Thanks for any info

It is a really nice hotel in a great location right on the river near Trafalgar Square in the center of town. One of the best choices in its price range.

I just stayed there last May and I plan to stay there again next May. It really is a nice hotel. Our room was very large and the bed was extremely comfortable. The location is perfect for central attractions. I do recommend it.

Thanks for answering my question. Did either of you ever eat there? They are offering a special that if one dines the other is free. I thought that would cut down expenses if the food is good. Any other thoughts?

Sorry, I did not eat there. I thought it would be too expensive. I've heard that the food is good though, so that would probably be a good deal to take advantage of at least once. I really enjoyed my stay there. It's on a very quiet side street and the rooms are very quiet too. The only negatives we experienced were the housekeeping service did not always replace what we used in the room, and if you want a room with a view you have to pay 20GBP extra per night. Have a good time in London!

We stayed there a couple of years ago and on our first night, tired and jet-lagged and not anxious to go out in the cold wind and rain (it was Christmas time, we live in San Diego and hadn't had time to acclimate!), we ate dinner in their restaurant. The food was very good and when a British friend came to visit a couple of days later, we ate there again. She liked it too. It may have changed in two years, but from our experience it's probably worth a try.
