Rothenburg on a Sunday?

I will be in Munich later this year and I am interested a day trip to Rothenburg and Harburg, the tour operates on Wednesdays and Sundays. Is there any disadvantage in going on a Sunday to Rothenburg? I am assuming most things in Munich will be closed, which is why I'm thinking of visiting Rothenburg on a Sunday.

Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

Stores only in Munich may be closed but the various sights will not - museums, Dachau, Olympic Stadium, Nymphenburg Palace, etc and a great day for the Englishcer Gardens and the famous Chinese Pagoda Beer Hall - will be lively with oompah bands on Sunday and on a nice day zillions of folks strolling in the park (and also lots of nudists who lay all about - not for the bashfrul - this as now a tradition in many German public parks!)

But Rothenburg may be even more crowded on a Sunday than other days as Germans too can come to this tourist mecca on weekends - though I guess the crowds in season are so suffocating any day it should not make much difference - though you do not say what month you are going - before mid June and after Sep 1 things clear out dramatically.

This Fodor's site often causes duplicate postings - nothing to do with me or others - getting to happen more and more.

Thanks for the reply, PalenQ.

I should have mentioned in my op that I will be in Munich in April.

Week before and after Easter are often peak season as many European have two weeks off - schools, etc. But even then I should think Rothenburg would be much less hectic than in summer.
