Roslyn Chapel from Edinburgh

Does anyone know details of getting from Edinburgh to Roslin to see the chapel? I assume public buses would get me there, but once in Roslin, how do I get to the chapel? is it within walking distance? thanks!

My husband is from Edinburgh and assures me that there is a bus service.
Post the question again in United Kingdom as Edinburgh is in scotland not Ireland.
Good luck

Also, Rossly is tiny (a village) so it would be a very short walk to the Chapel. Well done for including it in you schedule - a truly unique place.

Margeo,

Here's a link to a similar thread that might help:

Yes, I did this last year at this time. There's a bus 15A from St. Andrew's Square to Roslin. Check schedules for Lothian bus online. Just watch for the Roslin Hotel and get off there (or the stop right after it, which is just a short hop...we weren't paying attention and missed the hotel). Ask the driver to let you know when it's coming up.

Directly across from the hotel is an entry with dirt path to the Chapel. It's maybe a 10 min. walk in. Well worth it for the chapel (there was scaffolding up as they are renovating, and they let us climb it to see in from the top!) but don't bother trying to find the castle ruins as it was like an Indiana Jones adventure not worth seeing a fragment of stone for.
