rooms in Tuscany - Lucca, Siena, or ??

Can anyone recomends placesto stay in Tuscany region? Looking for places under 100 euros (if possible) for only 1-2 n ights. Leaving Florence tomorrow and our plans changed so now we are going thru Tuscany and having a time finding something. Trip has been amazing so far. Paris was beautiful as was Venice and Florence. Except for the occassional grouch Parisians and Italians have been more than accomidating and friendly.

We stayed at this B&B in Lucca in March - it was lovely and fits your budget

Try venere.com to put in your dates and cities...I assume you do not have a car? It may be hard to find something in your price as it is the weekend, but also know (you may have noticed) there are many places that are not "on" the internet. If you visit the local tour office in Florence, they may be able to hook you up with someplace in Siena or Lucca that fits your requirements.

We do a good bit of travel "on the fly" in May and have always had good results with serendipity, but then we usually travel by car and it is then easier to find places in smaller towns that are glorious, but not reachable by public transport.

OR -- you may even give the people at Elizabeth's recommended place (above) a call -- if they have no room they may be able to refer you to a similar place that does have availability.

Try Hotel Il Giardino or Alma Domus--both are good locations.

Sorry, that is in Siena. You should take the bus there from Florence.

I stayed at Fattoria di Cavaglioni in March and it was fabulous! A gorgeous villa, lots of space to go for long walks and relax outdoors. The owners are so nice! http://www.anfamtos.com/ Highly recommended!

I agree with busted - the owner's name is Lucca (from Lucca!) and his English is very good - if you have a cell you could also text him - he's quick to respond to a text.

Try Antica Residenza Cicogna
www.anticaresidenzacicogna.it

We stayed there last October and just loved it. It's a short walk from the bus station and very close to the Piazza del Campo. Also fits your budget and has a wonderful breakfast!
