DO NOT USE ROMERENTS company!!

photos misleading
lied about internet
tried to add extra rent day before we arrived...via sent email to us
horrible experience: agent in charge of company even yelled at us on phone as well as lovely Italian friend who tried to calm her down...
only bad rental we had in 3 week trip!!!

hope this is shared with anyone on Fodors and elsewhere as this forum is such great resource

Tried to charge me a 50 euro "apartment" fee

Thanks OP for the warning.

QWO, are you saying Sleep in Italy has alot of bad reviews? If so where do I read about them. It's just that I've booked an apartment with them for next year.

We rented from Sleep in Italy this year, as a matter of fact we also had a driver pick us up from the airport (and used them for our return trip as well) through their transfer service and were very satisfied. We rented

The owner was wonderful, the property absolutely as advertised and if you are interested I can give you his direct number. We are returning next year and are staying at this place for the entire trip. Obviously we highly recommend this rental. It is at the far south end of the Trastevere neighborhood but has easy access to public transportation (stop right up the block). We really enjoyed this area.

My husband and I, have now rented from http://www.rentalinrome.com for several years now.
They have a very friendly and professional staff, GREAT apartments and a good pick up service from/to the airport. Only my best recommendations!!

Hi world,
I think qwovadis meant to imply that Sleep in Italy was one of his top 2 recommended agencies, whereas the agency that the OP used has a lof of bad reviews.
We've reserved with Sleep in Italy for our upcoming trip and everything has gone well thus far re: communication.

Thanks Aggie

That's reassuring. I hope you have a memorable vacation. We too have booked an apartment with Sleep in Italy for this year. I phoned them and booked it hassle free. Fortunately their English was much better than my Italian

I, too have had very good experiences with Sleepinitaly.com. There was a time about 6 - 8 years ago when people had problems with them, but since then they have revamped their procedures and are just fine now,

italy Perfect is another agency that we had a good experience with. Also Rentvillas.com, although they seem to be a bit more expensive. And VRBO.com.

However, you should check reviews on TripAdvisor and SlowTrav.com as well as here to see what other people think of an apartment. The reviews on the rental sites are chosen by the owners to reflect the best ones. (I think Rentvillas does not allow owners to do this.)
