RomeHotels & Better Business Bureau?

Three questions:

Suggestions about a hotel in Rome, moderately priced but right in the heart of the action.

Does anyone know the exact name of two hotels by the Spanish Steps called Continental or Internationale?

Does anyone know whether there is a Better Business Bureau in Italy to check out companies who rent villas?

There is an Intercontinental de la Ville at the top of the Spanish Steps...and also an Internazionale which is at the bottom of the Spanish Steps at Via Sistina...

The Intercontinental is 4 stars

The Internazionale is 3 stars..

And a boutique hotel called the Inn at the Spanish Steps is on Via Condotti -in the main shopping area at the bottom of the Spanish Steps...also rated 4 stars...

Then there is the Hassler-which is also at the TOP of the Spanish Steps...and is 5 stars...

Hope this helps

The hotels near the Spanish Steps (in Via Sistina) are:

- INTERCONTINENTAL DE LA VILLE

- ALBERGO INTERNAZIONALE

Hope this helps ...

Have stayed at both the Hassler (while under renovation) and Intercont. de la Ville. Both v. nice. Would pick the Hassler over de la Ville.

Andy, the Internazionale is on Via Sistina, but it is at the top of the Spanish Steps, not the bottom. We stayed there about six or seven years ago. They put us in the worst and dumpiest room I've ever been given, despite their telling us it was one of their "very best rooms". It was early in the day and we decided there was no way we could stay in that dump, so spent several hours going hotel to hotel looking for a substitute and everybody laughing at us because everything was totally full. When we got back to the Internazionale and told them how unhappy we were they moved us to a much better room -- in fact hard to believe these two rooms were in the same hotel. It was OK, but still not a great place I'd care to return to.
