If you stay in Trastevere, IMHO DO NOT stay at Hotel San Francesco., despite its good Tripadvisor reviews. Look between the good reviews and you'll see some more accurate negative ones.
Have you considered an apt stay, instead of hotel? YOu'll get lots more bang for your buck.
I would NOT stay in Trastevere again. Neither would i stay nr the train station.. What about someplace near the Campo dei Fiori, which is in the center of thigs, but has lots more (again, IMHO) true old quaint charm than Trastevere. Or, I'd sacrifice "convenience" for a lovely small hotel on the Aventine Hill, as mentioned above.
Be prepared for LOADS of graffiti in Rome. After all, it's an Italian word, but nevertheless disconcerting, if you're not expecting it.

Of course it's not "just as easy" to take public transportation! A driver waits for you with your name on a sign at Arrivals, helps you with your luggage to the car, takes you directly to your hotel.
If you take public transport, you have to get yourself to the train station at FCO, buy tickets, wait for the train, take the train, get off at Termini, stand in line for a taxi, take the taxi to your hotel.
But the hotel is overcharging you. There are limousine services that you can book on line for 45 Euro (with an English-speaking driver) or even for 35 Euro, if you can dispense with English chit-chat on the way.

I don't give restaurant recommendations as a rule, but Checchino dal 1887 is a classic in Testaccio and has been for decades - IF you are prepared to eat classic Roman cuisine such as oxtail and IF you are not looking for the most inexpensive meal in the neighborhood. It is NOT the place to go if you only want pizza or a plate of pasta.
